What does de-cluttering really mean
De-cluttering isn't just about getting rid of "stuff" it is about moving "energy". Yes, even inanimate belongings have an energy as do clothes, ornaments and jewellery. We ourselves inbibe our unique energetic signature onto things we wear, touch or own. Every room in our house or wherever we live holds some sort of mental or emotional connection to loved ones, not so loved ones or those around us.
For instance gifts that you have been given may hold pleasant or unpleasant memories, different rooms may signify some emotional attatchment from the past or the present. Holding on to things that no longer serve us, please us, or bring good feelings will silently influence us in some way.
When you are unable to let things go, they hold space that otherwise could bring better things. Making space means clearing the clutter away and allowing energies that are new, positive and that serve you better enter your life. This is not just on the physical level but also on the mental and emotional levels too.
If you find yourself hanging on to anything that you havent worn or utilised in the last year, ask yourself why. What is it really that you cannot let go of, is it the actual possession or is it a feeling or a memory?
