Life is like a jigsaw
I recently rediscovered the joys and frustrations of doing jigsaws. I noticed that when I start a new jigsaw the incessant voice in my head ceases to be dominant and a great concentration takes over. As I begin putting the pieces together I am reminded of life itself and how a jigsaw is a great analogy of how life is.
Firstly I noticed that sometimes you have to concentrate hard to find the pieces that fit together, sometimes this takes hours if not days. Some pieces look like they fit and often will fit except that the joining ones don't. So, every piece has another that fits perfectly with it and joins with those surrounding it.
Secondly as the picture emerges you get an idea of how it is going to look but the picture isn't complete until every piece is in place. For me, when all the pieces look the same sometimes frustration takes over and I think I am never going to finish the job and I contemplate giving up. Some how though if I take a break and go and do something else it is like magic. I go back to the puzzle and taadaa pieces seem to jump out and fit into the correct place.Sometimes we need a break from trying to solve things. When we let go magic happens.
Once the puzzle is finished the great sense of achievment and satisfaction is awesome.
Like the jigsaw we are all connected to make the whole picture, no other piece will fit our spot, we are all important to complete the full picture. You are the only one that can fill the space you were meant to fill. One missing piece is obvious and detracts from the finished scene.
Don't give up on your life puzzle, everything has a way of working out and the pieces come together. This may take time but it is worth the effort.
